Head of Fee-based Products
The challenge
: A major wirehouse needed a senior executive to run its fee-based products, a job that required a combination of administrative skills, a deep understanding of a wide array of products, and extensive connections in the vendor community. The successful candidate needed in-depth experience with separately managed accounts, mutual funds, and insurance products. Further, the position required the individual to be able to negotiate fees with vendors and oversee a staff of 150.

The challenge: A major financial services group was seeking an executive to lead its Key Accounts department. Once a largely administrative zone, Key Accounts has become an important area for client retention and expansion of business. The company needed a skillful diplomat and tactician who could work with many internal departments in the organization.

The solution: We cast a wide net looking for an unusual skill set. The successful candidate turned out to be a National Sales Manager who was very involved with the Key Account function at his firm.
